Pool Sessions for Winter 2020

MASKGI offers Sunday pool sessions to members and non-members. These sessions are a great chance to practice rescues and rolling in warm water!

Dates: January 26, February 9, March 8 and 22

Time: 2 – 4 pm

Location: Riverton Pool, Portland

Cost: FREE for MASKGI members; $25 for non-members*

Wilderness First Aid Afloat

Gain the skills you need to care for people in remote locations. This fun, fast-moving course utilizes classroom sessions, practice sessions and outdoor scenarios.

Wilderness First Aid Afloat (WFAA) contains all the same information included in the SOLO Wilderness First Aid course (Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies). It also includes additional topics specifically designed for boaters including: sea sickness, marine bites and stings, injuries that are more common in marine environments, and environment specific rescue scenarios.

February Pool Sessions

Bring long kayaks. Bring short kayaks. Bring paddle boards. These sessions are informal. Show up with enough time to rinse your boat/board and self before taking a plunge.

Sunday, February 10th from 2-4 PM

Members: $20
Non-members: $30 (You can join or renew onsite!)

Need to borrow boats/boards/other gear? Need to carpool? Need basic instruction? Let us know and we may be able to organize things for you!

ACA Instructor Trainer Conference 2019

Purpose: To provide currently certified Instructor Trainers and Instructor Trainer Educators, and those aspiring to become ITs and ITEs, with a professional development opportunity specific to being an IT or ITE.  IT Updates will be available.

Date: October 4-6, 2019

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Note: This conference was originally scheduled to take place at LL Bean in Freeport, Maine. The ACA has changed the location to Richmond, Virginia.
